The French Quarter is jam packed with things to do and see. Every street has something, and you can be exploring for hours. Don’t get caught up with too much to do-New Orleans’ nickname isn’t The Big Easy for nothin’. Take a rest and breathe in the scenery at our picks for the top parks in NOLA. Relax for a bit, take a leisurely stroll, or attend an event off the main attraction strip of Bourbon St. All close distances from us here at Rathbone Mansions, these park recommendations are sure to have a little something to fill up your vacation stay here in Crescent City.

Louis Armstrong Park

Located close to Rathbone Mansions along North Rampart Street, Louis Armstrong Park shines bright as a highlight of the local community. Filled with history, this park is nestled between two famous neighborhoods: French Quarter and Treme. Grab a bench amongst the many culturally significant statues, walk along the fountain by Mahalia Jackson Theater, and don’t miss Congo Square on a Sunday afternoon for the weekly drum circle. And if you’re planning a walking tour, make sure to choose one that goes over the rich history of this park-even the trees have a story to tell.

Woldenberg Park

A short walk from Rathbone Mansions heading to The Mississippi River lies Woldenberg Park. A wonderful park along the river, you can stroll the path or sit and boat (or people) watch. Right next to Audubon Aquarium and the Riverwalk Mall, this park is alive with activity year-round and great for family outings. Bring some beignets from Café Du Monde and settle onto a seat before you start your day, or catch the sunset over the water as the city transitions into night.
